"It's probably the hardest course I've ever raced. It's uniquely demanding. It's a lot different than normal cross-country World Cup courses, extremely tough, but fun, too."
— Max Plaxton
1st place 2012 Nimby Fifty, 2011 Canadian National XC Champion

"If you haven't had the pleasure of riding in Pemberton this race will be a fantastic introduction to a truley world class trail network ... Epic is an overused word these days but this race has the potential to be a true classic."
— Jason Shorter

Very limited parking will be available at the Start/finish at North Arm Farm. We request that all racers (unless you're travelling with kids) park at the Pemberton Industrial Park located about 0.5 km east of North Arm Farm - here is a Google Map for the official parking area. North Arm Farm is located about 5 km down the highway, past the (only) traffic light in Pemberton (there will be signs on race day)

Racer Check-In

"The most savage race course I've ever ridden."
— Neal Kindree
1st place 2011 Nimby Fifty, 3rd place 2010 Nimby Fifty; 2006, 2007 U23 National MTB Champ; 2006,2007 Test of Metal Winner

All racers must check in between 8am and 10am on race day to receive race plates, welcome package and any other last minute info. Check in is at North Arm Farm, however, you must park 0.5 km past the farm (see parking info above) and walk or ride over to the check in tents, which will be located just behind the farm bakery under the large covered canopy.

"Thanks fellas for the best single day event in the world! Great trails, well organized, cool location, oh, and I heard the after party was fun as well!"
Colin Kerr
     1st place 2010 Nimby Fift

Start Time

11am sharp
Racers can "line up" wherever you like!
There will be an area cordoned off at the front of the start chute for pro/elite riders.

Race Cut-Off Times

All racers must reach these locations on course before the following times:

  • Botom of Middle Earth: 1:00pm
  • Bottom of Overnight Sensation: 2:30pm
  • End of No-Err (1st time): 2:45pm
  • End of No-Err (2nd time): 3:15pm

Racers who arrive after will be pulled from the course and re-directed to the finish by course marshalls and/or sweep.

At the discretion of course sweep, racers may also be pulled from the course at other locations along the course depending on weather and/or any other conditions that either threaten the health and safety of racers and volunteers.

Please note, all volunteers are unpaid. They are generously donating their time. However, there is a limit, they also need to eat and participate in the fun back at the farm. These cut-off times are as much for you as they are in place for them.

The race will go rain or shine. The weather in Pemberton can be considerably warmer than the coast and, by considerable, we mean 5 to 10 degrees. So if it's 20 celcius in Vancouver it's completely feasible that it could be 30 celcius in Pemberton.  Yeah, that warm. So plan ahead, stay hydrated and bring lots of water!

Race Course

The race is approximately 40 km in length (but is most likely to feel like 50 km), boasting a lung busting 101 switchbacks of pristine single-track climbing. You get’n the picture? This ain’t your typical XC race. The Nimby Fifty is what we refer to as a technical marathon xc bike race which means it is absolutely loaded with incredible single track.

To wet you appetite for all things Nimby we have put together a full course description page where you can read about and watch YouTube videos of key trail sections, and download a map of the course. Be sure to check it out prior to registering.
